A response to: "Liberating the NHS: Eye Care Making a Reality of Equity and Excellence" 24/02/2011 The College has received the report submitted by the Optical Confederation and Imperial College as part of their response to the White paper Equity and Excellence – liberating the NHS. We view the report, written by Professor Bosanquet, as powerfully written and capturing the mood of the times but it has serious flaws and overstates the issues without evidence to support its assertions. The College believes these should be addressed further, namely:
