Ophthalmic Trainees' Group (OTG)

Welcome to the Ophthalmic Trainees' Group (OTG) pages of the College website.

The OTG aims to represent the interests of trainees at the College and to make sure that the voices of trainees are heard at all levels of College decision making. Today's trainees are tomorrow's ophthalmologists and many of the issues changing the face of medicine in general, and ophthalmology in particular, will fundamentally affect the way we are able to practise.  We want to engage all trainees in an active 2-way discussion of the issues, these are changing times that need your input to help shape our future.

The Ophthalmic Trainees' Group (OTG) is a committee of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Members are trainees elected on a regional basis, for a three-year term of office.

The OTG meets four times a year. One member of the OTG also sits on each of the College committees, including Council. In this way we are able to represent trainees in all areas of College activity and provide a two-way means of communication. An OTG member also sits on the Academy Trainee's Group of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.

Should you wish to contact us for information, advice or concerning issues you would like to be raised at College meetings, please email us via the OTG Co-ordinator
