Duke Elder Undergraduate Prize in Ophthalmology
The Duke Elder Undergraduate Prize Examination takes place once a year in Medical Schools throughout the UK and Ireland. The next examination is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 14 March 2012 (Closing date - 18 January 2012 - by which candidates have to submit their names to their Medical School). For an information pack please contact the Examination Department. In addition Medical Schools should have the information from January 2011 and further information can be obtained from the organiser within your Medical School.
Exam information
Patrick Trevor-Roper Undergraduate Travel Award
This award in Ophthalmology is open to undergraduate medical students from the UK and Eire only with an interest in the specialty. There are two awards made annually, each for the sum of £550. This money can be used to fund electives in Ophthalmology and may be spent on travelling or subsistence.
The next awards will be made in June 2012, application forms will be available on the Travel Awards page of the website from January 2012.
Medical Students Taster Day - 18 February 2013
The College is running a basic surgical skills course for medical students on 18 February 2013. The day involves lectures and practical sessions and aims to provide an introduction to surgical skills including suturing, knots and the use of the operating microscope.
