The Scientific Committee are delighted to announce the 2007 eponymous lecturers:

Duke Elder Lecture
The 2007 Duke Elder Lecture was delivered by Professor Andrew Dick from Bristol Eye Hospital. View information on the lecture here.

ANNUAL CONGRESS PRIZE WINNERS
We are delighted to confirm the Congress prize winners and offer our congratulations:

The Foulds Trophy
This prize, for the best paper presentation at Congress was awarded to N.A.V. Beare for the paper 'Perfusion abnormalities in children with cerebral malaria and malarial retinopathy'.

The Treacher Collins Prize
This prize, for the best video presentation at Congress was awarded to S.C. Wong for the video 'Expulsive haemorrhage: limiting the damage'.

The Royal Eye Hospital (London & Manchester) Poster Prizes
These prizes, for the top two poster presentations were awarded to:

The Royal Eye Hospital (London) Prize awarded to L. Pelosini for the poster 'Optical coherence tomography (OCT) of macular oedema and predictors of visual outcome'

The Royal Eye Hospital (Manchester) Prize awarded to P. Jindahra for the poster 'An investigation of ganglion cell loss in retrogeniculate hemianopia using optical coherence tomography'

The AMO Prize
This prize, for the highest scoring abstract submitted, was awarded to C. Ong for the paper 'Electronic National Cataract Audit: complications of local anaesthesia'.

Best commercial exhibition stand 2007
This was awarded to Alcon Grieshaber with joint runners up Lenstec and Haag Streit.

Allied Professions
The Scientific Committee carefully organised the timetable so as to appeal to allied profession colleagues. Tuesday was focussed at orthoptists and Thursday focussed at optometrists.

There was a seminar for nurses on Wednesday 23rd May 2007. The day was organised by Mr. Yit Yang, Wolverhampton and Ms. Jenny Nosek, Wolverhampton. Details can be viewed here

AGM - The College held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 23rd May from 3.45 p.m. to 4.15 p.m.

OTG Forum - There was a forum and drinks reception for all Ophthalmologists in Training on Wednesday 23rd May from 5.15 p.m. to 6.15 p.m.

Optic UK Drinks Reception - Optic UK hosted a special drinks reception on Wednesday 23rd May from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Awards Ceremony - This was hosted by the President, Miss Brenda Billington, on Thursday 24th May from 2.00 p.m. to 2.15 p.m. All Congress prizes were awarded at this special ceremony.

Commercial Exhibition
