How we influence policy
Our advocacy is rooted in evidence and informed by the experiences of ophthalmologists working across the UK.
We identify the key issues affecting ophthalmology, develop evidence-based positions and practical recommendations, and work with decision-makers to help shape policy and improve eye care services.
We do this by:
- responding to public consultations, inquiries and calls for evidence
- publishing case studies, position statements and research reports
- working with governments, the NHS, regulators and parliamentarians across all four UK nations
- collaborating with professional bodies, patient organisations and other partners
- engaging with the media to raise awareness of issues affecting ophthalmology and eye care.
