Equality, diversity and inclusion

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists is committed to equal opportunities and supporting diversity in its dealings with its membership, staff, the trainees and public. Equality and Diversity will be at the heart of the College’s every day practice, policies and procedures.

Read our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy (2020)

We value the diversity of the College community and recognise that individual difference has no bearing on a person’s ability to contribute to our key objectives. Inclusion is a central aspect of the College’s day to day activities and is a key consideration when promoting its opportunities.

Our policy outlines our commitment to a positive working environment based on professionalism, fairness, mutual respect and trust, and free from prejudice, discrimination and any forms of harassment, bullying or victimisation.

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists reports on the general ethnicity, gender and other characteristics of our members and lay group representatives (population). View our Equality & Diversity Annual Analysis Report. The data is provided voluntarily by individuals.
