Neuro ophthalmology in the eye emergency department
Start: 26th June 2019
Description: When a patient presents to the Eye Emergency Department (EED)with potential neuro-ophthalmological symptoms or signs it can be a real challenge to work out if there is serious or urgent pathology and plan initial management. The aim of this day seminar is to look at the most common and difficult presentations and how to assess and manage these patients efficiently and effectively in this pressurised environment. We will look at the particular challenges involved in seeing these patients in an emergency setting and how to assess them quickly. We will also look at which pathologies must not be missed, how to spot them clinically and what investigations will help you. Our speakers are all experienced EED and Neuro-ophthalmology clinicians and we also have a neuroradiologist who works closely with both specialties.
