If you run an ophthalmology or ophthalmic surgery-related course, you can apply for Royal College of Ophthalmologists accreditation.
Accreditation shows that we have reviewed your course against our standards for educational quality, course design, delivery and quality assurance. It is the highest level of recognition we offer for an educational course.
This service is for external organisations that run training courses. Applications are welcome for both established courses and new courses.
Course accreditation confirms that a course has demonstrated that it meets College standards in key areas, including:
- rationale
- course structure
- educational content
- teaching methods
- learning aims and outcomes
- quality assurance.
Accredited status helps demonstrate that a course has been designed and delivered to a high educational standard.
You can apply if you run a course related to:
- ophthalmology
- ophthalmic surgery
We accredit courses run by external organisations.
This includes:
- established courses that can provide evidence from previous deliveries
- new courses.
Apply at least six months before you plan to run the course.
This gives us time to process your application and allocate visitors as part of the accreditation process.
