  • Consider whether email is the most appropriate form of communication for the task.
  • Consider what IT tools and databases can be used in enhancing the effectiveness and safety of your clinical practice (e.g. clinic lists, prescribing tools, drug databases, medicolegal information, etc.).
  • Understand what it is meant by “Clinical Coding” and what systems are in common use.
  • Use PowerPoint or similar software regularly so as to become fully fluent in its use in presentations.
  • Make use of local IT department for training.
