  • Explain the benefits, risks and potential discomfort to the patient/carer
  • Know the limitations and cost implication of each investigation.
  • Understand how the histopathologist assists in diagnosis and ensure you communicate with them, including seeking advice about transport medium etc.
  • Know the macroscopic and microscopic features of ocular conditions and staining techniques used.
  • Ensure you attend clinico-pathological conferences.
