To assess a patient clinically, in OPD and elsewhere, in particular to:

Learning Outcome	Know the different perimeters available and the different strategies and algorithms used for measuring visual field. Choose appropriate strategies for different conditions e.g. glaucoma monitoring, neurological assessment, driving standards.

Overview	Understand the limitations of the tests, results of fixation monitoring, reliability indices, importance of refractive error and reducing artefact. Know when to apply different strategies for example, when to undertake a 10-2 versus 24-2 strategy, how SITA algorithms work and the role of monocular and binocular assessment. Explain clearly to patients how to perform the test, to improve reliability.
