What is a CCT
A CCT makes you eligible to join the GMC Specialist Register and apply for consultant ophthalmologist posts in the NHS.

Application process
There are two separate parts to the process:
- College recommendation
- GMC application
The GMC will invite you to complete its online application directly.
The College may only recommend you for CCT to the GMC once we have verified that you have met all curriculum requirements.
When to apply
Only apply to the College after receiving your final ARCP Outcome 6.
You must submit your application to the GMC within 12 months of your completion of training date. If you apply after this deadline, you will need to follow the Portfolio pathway route for specialist registration.

You are expected to use the curriculum cataract audit feature within the Eye Logbook to capture both the raw data for your consecutive cases audit and the complications data.
