The eponymous lectures honour the outstanding achievements of previous ophthalmologists and visual scientists, and recognise our links with the ophthalmic industry. Details of the 2017 Eponymous Lectures can be found below.

  • The Duke Elder Lecture will be delivered by Professor Keith Martin, Cambridge, UK.
  •  The Edridge Green Lecture will be delivered by Professor Anya Hurlbert, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK.

In a change to previous years, the main Congress meeting will take place from Monday 22 May to Wednesday 24 May 2017 with the sub-specialty day to take place on Thursday 25 May 2017.

‘Sub-Specialty Thursday’ will be fully incorporated into the main meeting with the full exhibition open to delegates for all four days. There will be five sub-specialty days to choose from in 2017 with the ever popular Retina Day and Glaucoma Day complemented by a Neuro-Ophthalmology Day, a Cataract and Refractive Surgery Day and a Primary Care/Emergency Ophthalmology Day. Delegates will be able to move freely between the different sessions.
