Congratulations to Dr Ahad Sharif from Islamabad, Pakistan, who is the 2025 winner of the Dr Sadhu Ram Gupta MBE Award for International (non-UK) Examination Candidates. He got the highest score in the October 2025 Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examination held in Rawalpindi, and will receive a prize of £1,000 and a medal.
This annual award is intended for international candidates who take our FRCOphth exams. It is given to the best performing non-UK examination candidate who has completed the Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examination in that calendar year.
Only candidates who reside permanently outside of the United Kingdom and take the exam there are eligible for the award, and the winner is announced at the end each year.
Dr Sharif (pictured below) was the highest-ranking candidate from all overseas sittings of Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examinations in 2025, which were held in Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Dubai, Egypt and Greece.
