Don’t miss these keynote speakers at EyeConUK

This year’s Congress programme includes three lectures featuring renowned expert speakers.

On the opening day, 20 May, Professor Christopher Liu will present the Bowman Lecture. Its title is ‘A Tooth for an Eye – a disruptive journey’.

Professor Liu is a Sussex-based consultant ophthalmic surgeon with a corneal interest. He is Honorary Clinical Professor at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School. In 2018, he was appointed OBE by Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth II services to ophthalmology. Read his speaker profile here.

Professor Peng Khaw will present the Ashton Lecture on Tuesday 21 May. The title is ‘Can glaucoma be ‘cured’ by surgical and regenerative therapies – insights from pathology and laboratory science’.

On Wednesday 22 May, Robyn Guymer, Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Melbourne, is giving the Optic UK Lecture, titled ‘Intervening early in AMD: how will we know when an intervention is working?’.

Professor Guymer is a deputy director of the Centre for Eye Research Australia, and a senior retinal specialist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. In June 2018 she was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to medicine in the field of ophthalmology. See more here.
