The RCOphth has launched a new special episode of its Eye to Eye podcast ahead of the upcoming 2020 intake National Recruitment interviews in Bristol. This special episode features an interview with RCOphth National Recruitment Sub-committee Chair, Sarah Maling, who shares some top tips for those preparing for their interviews.

The recruitment process for a post as an ST1 or ST3 ophthalmic trainee at Trusts across the UK is incredibly competitive, with only around 90 places available for the more than 250 applicants who make it to interview. In this special podcast episode Sarah Maling offers an insight into the set-up and structure of the annual National Recrutiment day, taking place in Bristol on 7 February 2020. She also offers useful guidance for applicants on portfolio set up and what to expect on the day.

For the first time both ST1 and ST3 recruitment will be taking place at the same time, following a re-assessment of and survey of members about the ST3 recruitment process. This combined interview process will ensure a fair and transparent process for recruitment at both competency levels.
