OST Curriculum 2024

GMC-approved OST Curriculum and associated documents, which took effect in August 2024.

OST Curriculum 2024 employs high-level, overarching learning outcomes to describe the skills, knowledge and behaviours required by ophthalmologists in training. It assesses overall capabilities in both clinical and generic professional skills.

The learning outcomes are mapped to the GMC’s Generic Professional Capabilities framework.

7 domains of practice mapped around the Generic Professional Capabilities (GPCs) framework. One domain, Patient Management (PM) is divided into 12 clinical Special Interest Areas (SIAs).
