The election of the next President of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists will take place this year. Members will be invited to vote for the successor to Professor Ben Burton, whose term ends at the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
College Members elect a President every three years.
Fellows, members, diplomates and affiliates who are in good standing will be able to vote and, to take part, it’s important that we have up-to-date contact details for you. Please take a few minutes to check your profile here.
We encourage all eligible members to participate fully in the election process.
Please note: this elections period started with the appointment of the Responsible Officer on 20 June, and will end with the announcement of the result to the Trustee Board on 27 November.
Key dates:
- Nominations open: 9am on Monday 1 September
- Nominations close: 5pm on Sunday 5 October
- Ballot opens: 9am on Monday 20 October
- Ballot closes: 5pm on Wednesday 12 November
- Outcome shared with members: Monday 8 December
