ACCEA have now confirmed the dates for the 2021 Round. The 2021 Round will open on Monday, 7 December 2020 and will close at 1700 hours on Thursday, 18 March 2021. If you are intending to make an application, you are strongly advised to check the ACCEA Nominal Roll to make sure your details are correct.

Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards

Applicants who wish to apply for College support MUST submit their application to [email protected] and to be received by 0900 hours on Monday, 1 February 2020. Applications will not be accepted after this date.

Please state in your accompanying email the name of the College member who has agreed to write your citation should you receive College support. You must ask this person prior to you submitting your form and state that they are happy to do this.

Updated application forms, FAQs and guidance will be on their website once the round opens from Monday 7 December 2020 – please check here their website here.

Please note the following significant changes that the ACCEA have made to the application form:

  • Removed the additional forms for Domains 3, 4 and 5.
  • Increased the character limit to 2,000 characters for these domains, maintaining the separate publication section of 1,350 characters in Domain 4.
  • Removed employer ratings for individual Domains and the employer statement. Employers will continue to select from 3 levels of support (Supported, Qualified Support, Not Supported) and a justifying statement will still be required if the application is Not Supported or has Qualified Support.
  • Removed third-party citations. National Nominating Bodies (Royal Colleges and Specialist Societies) will retain the ability to provide a citation to accompany those applications that they rank.

Platinum Awards

Applications and citations for new Platinum awards need to be sent to [email protected] no later than Monday, 1 February 2020. These are then sent to the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges. Applications will not be accepted after this date.

The Awards remain extremely competitive and the College, as a Nominating Body, is only permitted to support a very limited number of applications in each category. If you are unsuccessful in obtaining College support you should not be discouraged from making an application as those with strong Trust support have been successful in previous years. To maximise your chances of success you must ensure that you are able to score in each of the 5 domains.

The College does not get involved with the process for renewal applications.
