Course accreditation

Royal College of Ophthalmologists-accredited courses are ophthalmology and ophthalmological surgery-related courses that we have reviewed to ensure that they meet our stringent standards for course design, delivery and quality assurance.

The College can provide accreditation for training courses run by external organisations.

You can be assured that accredited courses have demonstrated that their rationale, course structure, educational content, teaching methods, learning aims and outcomes, and quality assurance all meet the College standards.

Accreditation is the highest form of recognition that the College can grant for an educational course. It is applicable both to well established courses that can provide evidence of positive feedback from several previous course sittings, and to new courses.

Read Accreditation of Courses Guidance.

Apply for course accreditation:
Please make sure that you apply AT LEAST 6 MONTHS before you plan to run the course to allow time for your application to be processed and for visitors to be allocated.

The College offers an Approval of CPD Points service where the academic quality of events run by commercial organisations is demonstrated by valid aims and objectives. Visit the Continuing Professional Development section for more information.
