We’re kicking off our programme of activity around 2020: Year of Vision by launching our first photography competition!

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is delighted to announce further funding to support the continuation of the National Ophthalmology Database (NOD), which collects data on cataract surgery performed in England and Wales and benchmarked reports on performance of individual surgeons with the aim of improving patient care.

The new RCOphth Strategic Plan 2020-2022 directs and prioritises key policy and campaign activities over the next three years. The way NHS care is provided and the treatments available to improve patients’ lives have changed almost beyond recognition since our charter first set out our obligations as a medical royal college in 1988.
