The College is pleased to announce the programme for the 2020 New Consultants Course. As in previous years the course will be chaired by Anna Maino, RCOphth New Consultants Lead and consultant at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.

The College is aware of the gap between knowledge acquired during training and the daily demands on consultants and this course is aimed to address this. The course will ease the transition to your new role and it will provide you with a number of skills, which you will use on a daily basis.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, this year’s course will be delivered remotely and will consist of four modules, delivered over three days. Topics include how to deal with complaints, job planning, how to write a business case, leadership and resilience. There will also be sessions on how to set up a private practice, pension issues and a final Q&A session.

Dates are:

  • Monday 9 November (AM)
  • Tuesday 10 November 2020 (all day)
  • Friday 13 November 2020 (AM)

Bookings will open on our website next week. Please see the attached programme for further details.
