Consultant ophthalmologist Romi Chhabra has been appointed as incoming clinical lead for the age-related macular degeneration (AMD) audit, succeeding Martin McKibbin.
The College has pledged its commitment to the #SASsix campaign, a national initiative aimed at supporting specialist, associate specialist and specialty (SAS) doctors to develop within their careers and become leaders and educators. SAS doctors and locally employed doctors (LEDs) are the most rapidly rising group of doctors on the medical register.

Consultant ophthalmologist Dr Elizabeth Wilkinson has joined NHS England’s Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) team as the third clinical lead for ophthalmology. She joins Lydia Chang and Jon Bhargava to lead GIRFT’s ophthalmology work, and brings medical retina expertise and leadership experience to the programme.
