The Scientific Committee are looking for suggestions for parallel sessions. These are 60, 90 or 120 minutes long and will take place over the first three days. We would also like suggestions for the subspecialty day on 26 May. At this stage, all we need is a brief synopsis, including aims and objectives and what areas the session will cover. We can accept suggestions that you would like to chair yourself or things you would like to see.
The 33rd AGM of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists will be held at 10.00 Tuesday 25 May 2021. It will be a virtual meeting and all members are encouraged to attend. Members can contact [email protected] if they are not attending Congress, but wish to attend the AGM.
In 2020 the college decided to postpone the Annual Congress due to the COVID19 pandemic. In 'The Congress that wasn’t' episode 1, we hear from Professor Andrew Lotery who talked about the VICI study which evaluated the use of Eplerenone as a treatment for chronic central serous retinopathy (CSCR). We then spoke with, Conor Lyons, Anna Song and Jasna Astalos, three abstract holders, about their work.
As the current situation with COVID-19 changes we are closely monitoring the impact on the RCOphth, its staff and members. Staff are working from home and will continue to provide services to our membership and the wider eye health community.
