Contributing surgeons and centres are invited to validate their cataract audit data on the RCOphth NOD Audit website by Wednesday, 24 June 2020.

The data analysis has been completed for the fourth prospective audit data collection period, 01 September 2018 – 31 August 2019. Contributing surgeons and centres can now view their data on the RCOphth NOD audit website prior to inclusion in the Audit annual report and public section of the RCOphth NOD website.

To view your data, you need to be registered on the RCOphth NOD audit website. If you are already registered to use this website, please log in here with your details and your data will be available for viewing in the ‘analysis’ section. If you are yet to register, please do so with an NHS or doctors.org email address via this link.

Please note that the data in the public search database section of the website has not yet been updated for the September 2017 – August 2018 (previous) audit period. Fresh data for the September 2018 – August 2019 audit period is now available for checking in the analysis section of the RCOphth NOD website and can only be viewed behind the log-in.

The RCOphth NOD team encourages all contributing surgeons and centres to check their data by Wednesday, 24 June 2020, ahead of the report publication. Please prompt as many of your colleagues as possible to check their individual data. If we do not hear back from you by 24 June 2020, we will assume you agree that your results are accurate for publication on the RCOphth NOD website.

For centres that are yet to pay their audit participation fees for the September 2018 – August 2019 audit period, please be advised that your centre and surgeon level data will not be released for full reporting which includes the release of data to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for their inspection. We would be grateful if all outstanding payments are remitted as soon as possible.

If you have any concerns about your trust or individual surgeon data, please refer to the data validation FAQs in the first instance and if you do not find an answer to your question, please send an email to [email protected].

Changes to the audit data collection period

The data collection for the fifth prospective year of the cataract audit which commenced on 01 September 2019 will end on 31 March 2021. The audit period has been extended until 31 March 2021 to allow the audit data collection year to align with the NHS years i.e. 01 April – 31 March.

Please note that the audit participation fee for year 2020 will cover the extended data collection period. If you have any questions about the audit participation fees, please contact [email protected].
